The New Dell Inspiron 1525
Written by Ph@ntoM on January 5, 2008 – 8:00 am -Finally! Dell had revealed the much anticipated Inspiron 1525 notebook! The all new Inspiron 1525 will replace the popular 15.4″ 1520 model and will be targeted for the mainstream consumer crowds.

From Dell’s official Blog – Direct2Dell, the new machine is packed with lots of truly advanced features. Though it’s a revamped version of the 1520, the 1525 weighs at 5.9 pounds, about 25% smaller and 30% thinner than it’s predecessor! The design of the machine is much similar with its sibling, the 14.1″ 1420 (Magnified version?). Panels, media buttons, LED indicators and speaker’s location are identical with the 1420. The only difference is the tapering design which was similar to the XPS M1530 (From side view, instead being horizontal the casing poses to be slightly steeper, whereas the front is thinner than the back). Another major excitement is the introduction of HDMI, which means the 1525 supports High Definition output! Cool!

Of course, Dell still offers 8 vibrant colors for selections. In addition, Dell also offers 4 brand new designs called In Mold Decoration (which can be seen on HP DV6000 series of notebooks)! These 4 designs namely Blossom, Chill, Commotion and Street. I personally like Street and Chill. Cool designs I can say! I believe this product will definitely catches lots of consumer’s heart as the price offered was very tempting! Guess what? It starts from USD499 (RM1700 approx.)! Maybe entry-level with Celeron CPU?
Well, I guess this would be the one I’m waiting for… Haha! However, there’s one thing that disappoints me, it’s the lack of dedicated graphics! Gosh… No nVidia 8400M GS at least? Maybe Dell wanna promote their XPS M1530 I guess… Oh well, let’s see how it goes when it arrives Malaysian shores… Maybe on 9th Jan as Australia has started pre-orders already… Hmm… Checkout a review here!

awww. my bro’s Dell Inspiron 1520 arrived today. He should have waited for this model! This model looks way better. The inspiron 1520 is really heavy and big compared to my xps m1130.
Haha… Yeah… Dell do received some comments regarding the bulkier 1520. That’s why they revamped it and came out the 1525. But I think XPS M1330 was targeted for a different market segment. The XPS M1530 should be an indirect competitor with the 1525, just that now XPS offers discrete graphics while 1525 doesn’t.
hey there,
i really really would like this i have enough saved up 4 it and would really love the blossom design – it is so sweet!! i think that it is more than the moneys worth especially with that amount of memory and hard drive. WOW!!!
