Langkawi Day 2

All right, I’m apologizing for being late to compose this Langkawi Day 2 trip report! As I was quite busy lately… Anyway, let’s get into the topic.

Day 2 started with a very nice morning as we all had breakfast at the resort’s cafe… Well, decent food was served but we still need to take it.

After breakfast, I took some time to the beach to take some scenery shots. I’m lucky to get a very good angle to shot this below:

After everyone had breakfast, we’re got packed and ready for the beach! We’d planned to start our journeyto Datai Bay, a very famous beach with awesome sceneries…

We traveled quite a while as the route took past around a mountain. When we reached there, we were told that it was a private beach only for resort’s residences. Oh man… being traveled a long way here but no way to get in. No choice, we’d opted to go to another beach nearby called Pantai Pasir Tengkorak. While heading there, we stopped by Temerun Falls. Being very anticipated, when we reached the falls, it was a big disappointment as it looks like dried out! I think it was due to the dry season that caused only few drops of water falling… All right, then we continued to Pantai Pasir Tengkorak…

There’s crowds at Pantai Pasir Tengkorak. Mostly picnic-ers and some foreigns sun bathing. We did threw ourselves into the water. But not long after the sky dribbles… Oh my… We have to leave then…

We decided to make a try to Tanjung Rhu and hope it doesn’t rain there. Fortunately, the weather turned sunny and we’re all happy! Yeah! and upon arriving Tanjung Rhu, we were all attracted by the white sandy beach there! Off we go into the waters!

We had a great time at Tanjung Rhu… We played water… Buried A-Lex… posing for “movie poster” shot… Haha… and lots of fun there… After a few hours beside the beach, we’re exhausted and went back to our car. Tanjung Rhu was indeed a nice beach to spend your day with… The scenery was really pretty as it was a haven of paradise… Haha…

So, after our beach actiities, we headed back to our hotel to wash up and prepare for the mountains! Yeah… We’re visiting the Oriental Village and Gunung Mat Chinchang geopark. We arrived Oriental Village before evening and took the cable car up to the hill. Man.. I can say that the cable car was soo exciting and it makes me nervous… Coz the route path was soo high! The most exciting would be the moment reaching the 1st station as the gondolas were like hanging by the cliffs… Whoa… We dropped at the 1st station and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery of Langkawi archipelago.

After some chamwhoe-ing, so continued to the 2nd and final station. It was the peak of Gunung Mat Chinchang and we felt like at the top of the world… ha… We continued to the curved suspension bridge nearby… Dude, the bridge was so cool and amazing… it was like hanging between two peaks. While walking along, you could feel the bridge shaking when there’s wind… So terrifying yet thrilling. We chamwhoe a lot at the bridge before starting our trip back.

Walking back to the final station was quite exhausting as we need to climb on steps and do a little jungle trekking… The cable car trip back was also quite exhilarating while decending, especially going down from the cliffs of the 1st station. The two gals among us looked quite scaring on that point of time… LOL!

On ground, we’re starving and decided to search for the famous “The Loaf” bakery opened by our respected ex-Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir. We thought it was located in Oriental Village but was wrong. The actual location of it was at Telaga Harbour, along the road to Oriental Village. We do paid a visit there but the price tag of pastries are quite “luxurious” anyway. It was evening by that time and we departed off to Kuah town for dinner.

We settled down at a so called “open air” (the restaurant called “Rootian”) restaurant serving Chinese cuisines. We ordered mainly seafoods and the dishes were very nice. Kong Po Mantis Prawn, Kam Hiong Sotong, veges and etc… The bill of this feast was quite reasonable. Overall a good place to dine at Langkawi. We had done a lot of researches before this trip and I think it do helps us a lot here. Later on is duty free shopping! and we bought more liquors for our later program… Yes, the game continues… but before that, we gotta visit the famous Eagle Square of course! It’s the icon of Langkawi and it’s a MUST visit location! Haha… We took quite some photos at Eagle Square, posing with some funny postures but too bad the weather was dribbling and didn’t managed to get clear photos.

Back to the resort, we gathered around at the resort’s beach. There was quite a number of people from other groups at the beach compared to the day before. Anyway, the environment and setting was romantic indeed and it was a nice place for a chat… but we opted to drink there! *grin* We played and played… 1,2,3,4 + 007… bang! + suck & blow… some of us got a bit drunk again… it was really funny when those “drunk” guys playing… some blurred, some have slow reactions, some keeps on laughing, some just get very spirited… haha… anyway, we ended the game and finished the entire vodka for 2 days. While walking back to our rooms was also quite a though one as myself got dizzy a bit after some cups of drinks… I admit that i’m not a good drinker… hehe…

Well, back to our rooms, everyone turned in quite quickly… maybe that’s the effect of alcohol… haha… So next will be Day 3, stay tuned!
