After almost three years of development, the highly anticipated Mozilla Firefox 3 is out! with some really cool new features! of course, better security, performances and browsing experiences!

This new web browser is claimed to be 3X faster than its predecessor, Firefox 2 with over 15,000 improvements made! One of the most significant enhancements would be “Awesome Bar” in which it detects keywords typed by the user and intelligently suggest URL’s based on your browsing history and bookmarks. Hmm… quite a useful approach. Though IE7 has similar mechanism, but Firefox 3 arranges and presents them better, especially highlighting on keywords. Another highlight would be One-click Bookmarking and Tagging in which I like it very much because I usually bookmark pages a lot and it is quite hassling by clicking “Bookmarks > Bookmark This Page…” menu. This speeds up bookmarking processes. Additionally, it has tagging feature for easier finding and detection by keywords entered!

Ok… Security-wise… it is now intelligent enough to be able to detect malware or phishing sites and gives you a warning before you access them. It’s something quite similar to Google’s approach where when you enter a potential threat site via Google search, it redirects you to a warning page. Now it is integrated into the browser thus levels up its security capabilities.

Well… theres a lot more new thingy implemented in this new browser but I think what were mentioned are intuitive enough… Looks like Mozilla is trying to overtake IE7 but I believe the upcoming IE8 will sure improve drastically… Oh yeah… User interface wise, it’s quite simplistic. However, I think I like Firefox 2’s more than the new one. Maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned (LOL!) but the new approach still does the job well… Perhaps you would want download it here
