Journey of Macau/Hong Kong (Macau) Part 3

Written by A-lex on January 23, 2009 – 5:37 am -

jorge alvares monument
credited as the first Portuguese explorer to have reached China and Hong Kong

Next we went to Senado Square. A few blocks from where we stay for the night.

Senado square in Macau, China is one of the favorite popular destinations in Macau. Known as Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro square in the official annals of Macau, Senado square was constructed by the colonial rulers of Macau showcasing their glory and superior designing capabilities. This attraction on the Macau sightseeing tour is now a splendid blend of Chinese and Portuguese cultural traits.

Senado square in Macau with an area of 3200 sqkm is the largest conjunction of streets. Well decorated and paved with a wave-patterned montage of colored stones, the public place is an exquisite specimen of Portuguese city planning. Beginning from the main road and ending at the church of St. Dominic, the roadway expands till the ruins of St. Paul’s. This enlarged pavement makes the heart of the Taipa a pedestrian ecstasy.

Senado square in Macau was built in 1918 to link Praia Grande with the inner harbor. With its passage through the old “Christian quarter” and “Chinatown” it became an attraction for the tourists. It was often used by the colonial rulers to showcase their strength and military power. Senado square in Macau was the city centre which was place where the succeeding the governors looked over military troops and the police force at the time of their inauguration.

Senado square in Macau, nowadays hosts a number of celebrations. It is the venue to the most of the public as well as religious festivals in Macau. The nightlife in Macau has its best flamboyance at the Senado Square. The neo classical buildings at the square are well mixed with the modern architectural splendors. This inhibits an example of assimilation capability of Macanese culture. This civic hub of Macau contains an elegant fountain, space for public events, trees, benches and cafes.

Journey of Macau/Hong Kong (Macau) Part 2

Written by A-lex on January 22, 2009 – 2:34 am -

This is what we have for our 1st meal at Macau. It is quite general type of food but it is what Macau and Hong Kong are famous with.

Wantan mee with pork hock

Dry Wantan mee

Wantan mee with pork

Rice with pork chop Japanese style

After filling our tummy with foods, we went on exploring the outer part of the hotel. Thought of walk to another hotel/resort nearby but due to time constraint we have to cancel that.

Ming Yuan and Kah Keng

Siang Chin and Alex

Macau, cash flow come and go very fast as a lot of people go gamble and have fun. Lotsa fun involved chicks, money, car and affair. LOL! Hahah..

Because of securities and other circumstances, no photos of planes and airport! What you get is what I gonna show below.

what you see is what you get

Haha… remember that building so the next time you see it you will know you at Macau.

Prelude of Journey of Macau/Hong Kong

Written by A-lex on January 20, 2009 – 4:00 am -

Finally, I got the time to edit photos and write about the journey of our trip to Macau/Hong Kong!!!! Why I am the one who do the writing? Because I am the main cameraman of the trip + two of them don’t write blog + another one are busy with his own kiloqus.com business. That’s why. Anyway will try to ask them to write something too. Teamwork mah.

Why got the idea to go Macau/Hong Kong? It all started with our Langkawi trip. We as part of the FF0461 group, we tend to have a annual trip or after level trip of our own to reward ourselves for what we have gone through for the whole year of study. So, we have a Langkawi trip last year, a local travelling trip and we decided to go somewhere further. Start with Sabah, then Thailand (cancelled due to the breakout over there) then found out that the air ticket to Macau/Hong Kong is just a bit more than trip to Sabah. Macau/Hong Kong as we decided.

We thought everyone can join for this out-of-Malaysia trip but due to certain circumstances and facts (problem of money, family and relationships) only four are left who want to (or can) go. So, why not choose local destination you may ask? Another reason is we are quite bored with Malaysian tourism spot as not that we had visit that place but it is not as fun as going out of Malaysia to experience something different. And this trip is the cheapest and fun-est of all. But, it does not stop us from going there. I mean what’s the chance of all of us gather together and have a trip like this in the future time? Chances are slim. That’s what pushes us to put more effect to make this trip a success! What’s more, we carry the will of other of travelling around the world! *kidding* Muahaha…

[For add on purpose]

Let’s cut off some bullshit as I still got lots to speak! ROAR!

Remember to revisit this blog to get update on the trip! ROAR!

Hapi Niu YEAR!

Written by A-lex on January 4, 2009 – 12:23 am -

New Year Eve celebration at 1 Utama is great! Can’t believe I am able to attend a mini concert of Justin Lo (侧田). 7 songs sang! Although no booze this year but it still fun. I still prefer seeing people drunk. :P

My friends and I arrived at 1 Utama around 9pm and the place is already packed with people. Due to my research on the internet, I know there is this yellow zone special for user of the sponsors of the day. We managed to get the passes as the Digi is giving out all their passes to whoever wants it as they still have a lot of it not distributed. :D *Say WOW! You are smart*

Went in, search a spot to enjoy the concert. We manage to watch half of the concert as we already consider late but our purpose going there is because of Justin. :P So no hard feeling for missing out any before him. XD

I let you all enjoy the picture!

FIREWORK TIME! COUNTDOWN!!!!

AFTER FIREWORK! JUSTIN! *Justin! Justin! Justin! Justin! Justin! Justin! *

Group photos

That’s all…. Happy New YEAR! ROARRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!!
