Lou Sang 2008

Written by Ph@ntoM on February 24, 2008 – 1:16 pm -

During the 1st day of our new sem as well as Level 3, we VistaCrew and a few gangs went celebrating CNY at an open air restaurant namely Soon Fatt Seafood @ Sri Petaling. We settled down and ordered 8 dishes for that night! Of course, not forgetting the most important “ceremony” to be done… Lou Sang!!! Lou Yee Sang a.k.a Lau YuSheng is an unique culture practiced by Chinese all over Malaysia and Singapore… And for us, we’re “lou-ing” for great fortunes, good health and 1st class for our Final Year Projects… Haha!

Wanna check out more on what we ordered? Read more after the jump! (with photos and video!)

Go go makan @ Kuchai Lama

Written by Ph@ntoM on November 30, 2007 – 12:00 pm -

Few days ago, we went for lunch at a place near Jalan Kuchai Lama. Not sure about the full name of this shop. Just knew it called “Goon Wah Restaurant” or ( 华) in Chinese. It was tucked inside an un-discoverable corner, among the shop lots just beside Shell petrol station. Anyway, this shop was famous for their X.O Fishhead Beehoon. Other notorious dishes include Claypot Lou Shi Fen, Fried Hokkien Mee, Baba Fried Hokkien Mee, Stewed Pork Bun and many more to be described. Well, I think just let the pictures explain it all. Sorry about the quality as it was shot by my 2MP Z610i phone >.< So, enjoy…

X.O Fishhead Beehon

The shop’s famous X.O Fishhead Beehon – A must try…

Claypot Lou Shi Fen

Claypot Lou Shi Fen – Very tasty and unique

Stewed Pork Bun

Stewed Pork Bun – Nice and not so fatty by the fact

Fried Shanhai

Fried Shanghai “Nian Gao” – Indeed a rare dish to be seen in KL. Even rarely to taste this kind of flavor as it was totally different from the authentic Shanghainese way of cooking.

Fried Hokkien Mee

Fried Hokkien Mee – And my favourite… Hee :p

Goon Wah Restaurant map

The location @ Jalan Kuchai Lama

Well, if you’re free and was in a dilemma for finding lunch, do try this shop. Price range was overall reasonable for the public. And yeah, parking is quite a problem here during lunch hours as it was constantly packed.
